Branch Manager – International Freight Forwarding – Humble, TX

Salary: $130,000+

The Branch Manager oversees the organization’s branch office’s operations, sales, bookkeeping, and customer service by carrying out the following tasks either directly or through delegated supervisors.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • The Branch Manager oversees an organization’s branch office’s operations, sales, bookkeeping, and customer service by carrying out the following tasks either directly or through delegated supervisors.
  • Oversees two or more people in Sales, Operations, and Accounting and is in charge of managing one or more subordinate supervisors. They are also accountable for the branch’s general direction, coordination, and assessment.
  • Coordinates business operations, sales, accounting, and customer service in compliance with corporate rules, principles, and procedures.
  • Meets with clients and suppliers to discuss how to enhance and expand services in all areas that affect client satisfaction.
  • Where appropriate, creates plans for the effective use of materials, personnel, and equipment
  • In order to maintain and improve the branch’s profitable operation, operations programmes are reviewed for cost and service quality.

  • Plans and executes sales programme with Director, Sales and Marketing to explore new markets after reviewing operations of rival firms.
  • Controls the creation of accounting records
  • Discuss tariff and space allotment concerns with your airline partners and ocean carriers.
  • Represent the company when necessary at events for clients and business contacts.
  • Ensure the team is managed well and that all rules are followed.

Requirements:

  • 10+ Years Operations Experience in Freight Forwarding Industry
  • Batchelor’s degree in business, logistics or equivalent combination of knowledge and teaching
  • Proficient using Freight Forwarding software (Cargowise 1, SAP, AS400)
  • Understanding and practice in Microsoft Excel and database functions.
  • Out-going and forward-thinking mindset with the ability to decode problems in a timely manner
  • Knowledge of state, federal, and international applicable laws and regulations as they relate to primary services provided (i.e., customs, security, other import and export government agencies)

This is a direct-hire, full-time, permanent position.
